I help financial service business owners to work less, earn more and enjoy life ♥️
So I thought I’d introduce myself and share a bit of my story for my new connections.
Buckle up, it’s a bit of a wild ride!
Growing up, I always had an entrepreneurial mindset.
My passion for house music and clubbing made me think, "I want a piece of this."
Back then, it wasn't about making money; it was about creating unforgettable club events with my friends and our favorite DJs.
Profit wasn't the goal—good times were.
And boy, did we have some epic times! 🥳
In the early 2000s, it was more about dodging the cops at night, pasting huge A0 posters on walls, and handing out flyers in city centre streets.
Then Facebook came along, and I realised I could put my event details in front of more eyeballs while sitting on my ass with my laptop.
I set up event pages, invited all my friends, and got all my DJs to invite all their friends too.
I taught myself how to use Photoshop to create graphics for my club events, which eventually led me to offer graphic design and online marketing services to local businesses.
My business offerings were far from focused.
I was juggling club promotion, graphic design, social media marketing, website design, print and distribution, one-on-one coaching, and media buying all to multiple different industries.
I was burning the candle at both ends, working tirelessly with two young kids.
Long days of hard work were followed by nights at the club and early mornings with nappies and baby bottles.
I was basically living on coffee and sheer determination.
Something had to change.
Then COVID hit.
Overnight, the hospitality industry—and half of my business—collapsed.
With two young children and a mortgage, the stress was overwhelming.
I feared this would ruin me.
But in hindsight, it was the best thing that ever happened to me and my business.
COVID forced me to re-evaluate my business model.
I had read "The One Thing" by Gary Keller a few months earlier, and it helped me focus.
I identified that one-on-one coaching brought in the most revenue and decided to double down on it, eliminating the rest.
With lockdowns in place, in-person coaching was impossible.
So, I turned an idea I had toyed with into reality: creating an online course.
I productised my skills into a scalable, COVID-proof package.
This shift was pivotal.
The Internet, Gary Keller’s book, and a life-changing conversation with David Draey led me to my mentor, Sam Ovens.
Investing $3,600 in Sam's course was the most I had ever spent on anything, but it was the best investment I’ve ever made.
Sam’s course taught me how to create and market an online course and community.
Eighteen months later, my course was generating five figures in monthly revenue.
Fast forward to 2024, I’ve refined my service to help clients achieve results with less time and effort.
Focusing on one area of my business has reduced stress, improved client outcomes, and created a scalable, profitable business.
This focus allows me to work on growing the business rather than being trapped inside it.
Now, I have more time for what truly fulfils me: spending time with my family and traveling the world.
Thanks for joining me on this journey.
Here’s to making the most of every opportunity and investing in ourselves.
Cheers! 🥂
